Re: Frankfurt away
As wilko mentioned Sachsenhausen seems to a pretty vibrant part of town. My kraut mate who now lives in Frankfurt has recommended it to me.

Hotels in the area seem pretty good value and it’s the right side of the city for the international airport and EF’s stadium.

Sachsenhausen is great and a very obvious place for us all to go. Avenues and alleyways of bars - can't go wrong. We really could take it over.

If we win, the Red Mile will be the place to celebrate.

Re: Frankfurt away
Sachsenhausen is full of bars but the speciality is/was their version of cider - (Apfelwein/Ebbewei) - not really a major beer city like Dortmund, Munich or Cologne, as far as I remember from work trips a few years ago.

Ball - Yep, that spot is ideal for football fans. Must be 30+ bars in that area at a guess.

Re: Frankfurt away
From an Eintracht friend of mine:

I guess it‘ll be hard for your friends to obtain a ticket for the return leg in Frankfurt. Eintracht had almost 300.000 applications for the home match versus Barcelona with a capacity of 48.000 only at Waldstadion

In comparison to the match in Barcelona where an estimated 30.000 Eintracht fans where in the ground, the match in London is the first leg which will reduce the travelling support a bit. But tourist London around Trafalgar Square & Co. will be taken over by Eintracht‘s support on matchday, that’s for sure. You may want to see the traditional away „Fanmarsch“ from the city centre in Barcelona to the Nou Camp. There were actually two „Fanmarsch‘s“ but due to the sheer mass of people and traffic arrangements (I guess) they had to split the group in two. You see one of them in the attachment.

They are currently looking into making a trip, but I believe that they will give priority to those who have used them previously this season.

Re: Frankfurt away
One thing I noticed at Lyon away which hasn't happened anywhere else on our Euro adventure is that there were a lot more corporates (and most likely bondholders). This resulted in people being adamant that they had to sit in their seat rather then it be a free for all sit with your mates like the other games have been.

Looking at hotels now, Sachsenhausen the best place to aim for we think?

Re: Frankfurt away
I think a lot will group around Sachsenhausen as it sounds like lots of bars and restaurants. There will also be a lot of people around the train station as there is a large Irish bar there and the red light area - that was where a lot of England were drinking in the World Cup out there but it’s a bit of a shithole

We managed it , well almost only because we got off before the polish border , fuck knows where , we were going to Berlin and flew to schonenfeld? and my brother wanted to practice his german , so asked this bloke at the rail station , so we got on this train , l’d actually made the trip quite a few times , it’s like stanstead to London , so after about half an hour of fields , sheep and woods , l said to my brother, Dave shouldn’t we be seeing some buildings etc by now , then the ticket guard come along and explained we were on the way to Poland .
